Caitlin Federico (She/Her)

Bereaved Parent & Living Parent / Peer Companion

1) Describe briefly how you got involved with Empty Arms.

In 2022 when I lost my daughter, a close friend was searching for resources for me and stumbled upon Empty Arms. She gave me their info and I started attending their support groups. In 2024, l trained to become a bedside companion.

2) What makes you most proud of the work we do/What do you like most about Empty Arms?

It's hard to answer that shortly! They provide a judgement-free zone for you to process arguably one of the hardest things imaginable. The support they lend isn't short term, it's endless. They help those in the first hours/days of their new normal in a way that will help them preserve their babies memory forever.

3) Share a passion in your life and/or work outside of EABS.

A frequent hobby of mine has always been attending concerts. When thousands of people come together to all enjoy one thing so intensely and all have different meanings or attachments to whatever song Is being played, feels very poetic to me. Definitely something special!
