Chelsea Levis (She/Her)

Bereaved Parent / Executive Director: Empty Arms Vermont / Trying for Another Baby Support Group Facilitator

1) Describe briefly how you got involved with Empty Arms.

I co-founded Empty Arms after moving back to Vermont and noticing that adequate peer support for bereaved parents was lacking. Our family lost our firstborn, Timothy, suddenly during labor in 2014.

2) What makes you most proud of the work we do/What do you like most about Empty Arms?

I’ve become deeply aware of the complexities of grief and pregnancy after loss. For me, grief is not a moment to get through, but a lifetime to explore and cultivate. Through Empty Arms Vermont, I work to extend community support and connect families and individuals that can know each other through shared grief experiences.

3) Share a passion in your life and/or work outside of EABS.

I grew up in Vermont and love this little state and the friendships found here. As a family, my husband Jonathan and I spend most of our time hiking, gardening, and finding new adventures alongside our two living children.
