Danielle Ernst (She/Her)

Wife and Bereaved Mother / TFMR Support Group for Later Loss Facilitator

1) Describe briefly how you got involved with Empty Arms.

After we ended our very wanted pregnancy due to a rare genetic deletion syndrome known as 22q11 or DiGeorge syndrome, I was scrambling to find anyone who I could relate to. Without ever hearing the term "termination for medical reasons" before, I felt absolutely lost and that I would never find a home for these thoughts, feelings, and emotions - until I found EAB. EAB has been my beacon of hope that there are other mothers and couples out there who have made difficult and gut-wrenching decisions like ours.

2) What makes you most proud of the work we do/What do you like most about Empty Arms?

The best part of being in the EAB family is the connections you make with other mothers. EAB gives mothers, and spouses, the opportunity to connect with others that you may not have been able to connect with before. This gives us a sense of community around topics and decisions that are otherwise not often talked about.

3) Share a passion in your life and/or work outside of EABS.

Outside of EABS, I enjoy all types of crafting. I love utilizing my creative side during my free time.
