Jennifer Rocketfield-Sias (She/Her)
Bereaved Parent / Expecting your Next Baby Support Group Facilitator
1) Describe briefly how you got involved with Empty Arms.
I met Carol at a loss-moms retreat she was helping to facilitate in RI and I spoke about the need in my soul to do what I called “heart work” and how I wanted to help other loss moms navigate their journey’s. Once we realized we lived close to each other, she told me all about Empty Arms and things started falling into place! It was such a beautiful connection because I was living in Idaho when I lost my daughter, and I never had a support like Empty Arms when I was new to the child-loss world, and navigating being pregnant after loss!
2) What makes you most proud of the work we do/What do you like most about Empty Arms?
At the end of the day, We all want these parents to know they are not alone as they walk their grief journey’s. It is also so incredibly important to us that everyone feels that they have a safe place to grieve and process emotions that come up for them after loss. That can be life-changing for many. And life-saving. The beautiful connections, and hope that we watch parents hold for one another, is a part of all of that. It makes me proud to be a part of something so powerful and special!!
3) Share a passion in your life and/or work outside of EABS.
A passion of mine is nature. I love to be out in nature in many different ways (like camping, hiking, and grounding). I love teaching my son about nature, and animals, and the nights sky. I enjoy taking classes on herbalism, foraging and medicinal plants. I find I connect most with my daughter -Harlow- (who was stillborn) most when I am in nature and taking time to listen to the wind, and whisper to butterflies. I have found it to be very healing on days that feel heavy, and it was where I’ve felt most at peace.
