Yahayra became involved in Empty Arms in 2016 when she found out that her daughter, Zady, suffered from anencephaly. She made the decision to continue her pregnancy and Empty Arms was with her when Zady was born that April. Almost from the day she said goodbye, Yahayra was committed to one day helping other parents who had been through experiences like hers. She has been a lifeline to many Spanish speaking families over the years.
